Being that it is Mary Magdalene’s Feast Day (July 22), for all those ‘Da Vinci Coders’ out there who are also interested in the mystery of Berenger Sauniere, Rennes-le-Chateau, and the Priory of Sion, it might be worthy of notice that “Fache” (as in CAPTain BEZU FACHE of the international bestseller) is a simple anagram for “A CHEF.” Now, if there should be a code within the “CODE” (one that I’m fairly certain that neither author Dan Brown nor his symbologist protagonist has the slightest inkling of – curiously enough! - yes, there appear to be mischievous forces at work here), then it figures that the key would most likely be on page 117 of the same book. And with this hypothetical key, once you get past the tired (almost) red herring of the Jesus-Mary bloodline/Merovingian survival thing, and focus your attention more on one of that illustrious figure of the 15th century’s other interests – that of dissecting cadavers and anatomical research, (but not just as a way of adding details to his drawings of human males), you might better understand the ‘disembodied’ hand holding a knife in his painting of “The Last Supper”, not to mention why LEOnardo left so many works of art unfinished: “I am aware of the scent of the perfume which impregnates the sepulcher of the one I must release. Long ago her name was ISIS, Queen of the benevolent springs, COME TO ME ALL YOU WHO LABOUR AND ARE HEAVY LADEN AND I WILL GIVE YOU REST. Others knew her as MAGDALENE with the celebrated vase full of healing balm. The initiated know her to be NOTRE DAME DES CROSS..." OR, as a few men supposedly said prior to hanging themselves (and there IS a connection for those with eyes to see): “Cursing the profane in their ashes and those that follow their ways; returning from the darkness while making the gesture of horror at the abyss into which I had plunged. Here is the proof that I knew the secret of the Seal of SOLOMON and I had visited the secret places of this QUEEN. Take Heed my friend, do not add or take away one iota; think and think again, the base lead of my words may contain the purest gold…”
