It's better than the remnants of what remained of the former site, but lacks the creativity.
^^ agreed. miss points and karma...made the old site fun
Old site had a bunch of unique features. I enjoyed the subtle things like looking at a user's profile and seeing what their favorite tool songs and albums were. I liked that you could see that the band were users on the site even if didnt log in once every year or two. But most of all I missed the newsletters... I felt closer to the band because of them.
Whatever, on to new endeavors cheers.
Better than nothing, but definitely not the same feel. I liked how the threads were set up on the old site. And I phò king miss the sound. That Tool Army sound. That halfway-slowed growl.
Yep, I miss the threads... the karma, the points..all of it... I think the only people that will like this place now are the "true" tool fans... and I dont even believe in "true" tool fans.
Better than nothing, indeed.
This site is nothing compared to The Collective Unconscious. The old site was eclectic, interesting and full of "educational" postings. I come here hoping to find a newsletter and only find that they are still gone. Still, the shall pay for another year subsciption. Cheers.
Better than nothing. Not having a working message board for years sucked but this is about the worst designed message board I've ever seen. And the old site was cool for all the reasons above and more. "Turn off your television, it's your first step toward waking up"
I'm curious about something I'm sure somebody around here could fill me in on. What exactly went wrong with the old site? I didn't show up on the scene until early 2012 and by then it was totally borked. What happened to it?
Ah.... I see.... Thank you for filling me in.
Hackers!! There were a one or a few members hacking the site. The one member I remember that was hacking was Distorted. I also remember reading about " Loose Coding " on the site it's self. So all it really needed was fixed not replaced. Since the TA web site was to be provided for complimentary use with your TA membership the band was under no obligation to fix it. TA member Corinthian, who is active here now was actually hacking the old TA to find the hackers account. His membership was revoked. If I remember it right it actually took a few TA members and Corinthian to go down to the " Tater ' in person on a night Danny was playing to explain to Blair what Corinthian was actually doing. After that Blair reinstated his account. Then shortly after that message boards and PM's were taken down permanently.
Should'a', would'a', could'a',...
4 eye better
Not better than our old TA, But better than this for sure. ;)
I miss sending Maynard and Co. messages
