Is there any way to get Tool music in a high-def audio format?
The Lateralus CD was HDCD High Definition Compatible Digital, supposedly squeezes a 20-bit output from the 16-bit signal. Some stand alone CD players and some DVD and Blu Ray players can read HDCD as can current Win Media Player versions (if you have the right hardware).
Depending on who you pay attention to about High Def audio either it's real or snake oil. I'm not sold on it. Either way you look at it good old fashioned CDs are tons better than 320 kbps MP3s...
Lossless CD rips are the way to go. I also took the time to convert their catalog to 432hz. Sonic geometry :)
